Baptism_______________
Baptisms are celebrated by appointment. Parents requesting Baptism for their child must be registered and active members of St. George or St. Patrick. Those who live outside either parish must have the permission of their home parish for the Sacrament to be celebrated in either parish. Parents must also participate in a baptism preparation class before the Baptism. Please call the Parish Office to make arrangements.
First Communion____________
All Catholics who wish to receive First Communion must first attend courses of instruction. Children should be enrolled in the CCD program at St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay. Adults should be enrolled in the RCIA. Please contact us by email, or call the rectory at 518-497-6673.
Sponsors For Baptism and Confirmation______________
To be a sponsor for Baptism and Confirmation the following is required: a baptized Catholic, be sixteen or older and be Confirmed and if married, must be married in the Catholic Church. A practicing Catholic, which means registered as a member of a parish and regular attendance at Sunday Mass. The pastor of the parish where the sponsor is registered is bound in conscience and in Canon Law to refuse to give a sponsor certificate to anyone lacking these requirements.
Marriage__________________
Couples planning to be married must contact their parish priest at least eight months before the wedding. Each couple must attend Pre Cana, Engaged Encounter or sessions with a couple assigned to them by the parish priest. Contact us by email, or call 518-497-6673 to set up an appointment.
Anointing of the Sick________________
One need not be dying to celebrate this sacrament of healing with the Church, though there must be a threat to one's long-term health. Call the rectory at 518-497-6673 in you would like to receive this sacrament.
Reconciliation_____________________
Saturdays: 3:15 pm - 3:45 pm

Communion Calls_________________
Those who are shut-in and are unable to attend Mass should notify the rectory so arrangements can be made to bring them Communion on a Monthly basis.
Letters of Recommendation__________________
Recommendations are only issued to registered parishioners who are practicing their faith at St. George Parish or St. Patrick Parish, and living in a valid church marriage(if married). Church Law requires that a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation – and the parish cannot make any exceptions. |
